Blindfold Walk: My friend Lu Xu and I designated a half mile stretch of urban sidewalk on Elm St in Greensboro, NC where we would walk together. One of us was blindfolded, and the other described what they saw as we walked to the turnaround point. There, we switched roles exercising trust, and relinquishing power.
The blindfold created a sort of handicap, which made us rely on other heightened senses but more so, it made us depend on the walking partner to navigate through the world. I've noticed that there is a lack of physical contact in our world today, as well as trust, sharing, and listening, especially in public places. This was a simple exercise exploring those themes.
